Position Overview:
We are excited to announce an opening for the role of a Network Technical Support Officer for one of our prestigious UK client as a Network Technical Support Officer, This role will be at the forefront of ensuring the smooth operation of the organization’s computer networks and communication systems. Your primary responsibility will be to provide expert technical assistance and support, guaranteeing uninterrupted connectivity and optimal network performance.
Job Description:
- Network Design: Involved in planning, designing, and implementing computer networks. Also analyze the organization’s requirements, determine network capacity and configuration, and develop network topology diagrams.
- Network Installation and Configuration: install and configure network hardware, software, and protocols. This includes setting up routers, switches, firewalls, and other networking devices. They also establish network connections, IP addressing, and network security measures.
- Network Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Monitor network performance, diagnose and resolve network issues, and perform routine maintenance tasks. Analyze network traffic, identify bottlenecks, and optimize network performance. They also ensure network security by implementing appropriate access controls, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
- Network Upgrades and Expansion: As technology advances and business needs change, network engineers are responsible for upgrading and expanding the network infrastructure. They assess the organization’s requirements, recommend and implement network upgrades, and scale the network to accommodate growth.
- Network Security:Play a crucial role in ensuring the security of the network. They implement security measures such as firewalls, VPNs (Virtual Private Networks), and encryption protocols to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access. They also monitor network traffic for potential security breaches and respond to security incidents.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of the network infrastructure, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures. Create reports on network performance, security incidents, and recommend improvements or changes to enhance network efficiency
- Collaboration and Support: Network engineers work closely with other IT teams and departments to understand their network requirements and provide technical support. Also collaborate with system administrators, software developers, and help desk staff to resolve network-related issues and ensure a seamless user experience.
- Research and Stay Updated: Latest networking technologies, trends, and industry best practices. Research new networking solutions, attend training sessions, and pursue certifications to enhance their knowledge and skills.
- Maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations.
- Configuring network security and virus protection software tools and monitoring their effectiveness to safeguard the entire infrastructure.
- Maintaining the networking systems, software, and related platforms along with making the necessary configurations for the organizational network.
- Evaluating the functionalities of installed virus protection tools for email applications and networking components.
